Medicine Ball Overhead Press

Equipment:

Medicine ball

 

Set Up and Action:

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder length apart and knees slightly bent.
  2. Place the medicine ball between the palms of your hands and hold in front of your face so that your elbows are facing down towards the floor.
  3. Tighten the abdominal/core muscles and straighten the arms above the head.
  4. Return and repeat.

 

Injury Prevention Tip:

Neck and Back Injury Prevention – Keep the head straight, do not tuck the chin or extend the head and keep the back straight.

Overall Injury Prevention – Make sure you are comfortable with the exercise and medicine ball before you perform this exercise.
