“RV Bikes” (also known as camper bikes) seem to be making their way to the states. This unique form of travel and transportation has been seen in Europe and Asia, and now we are catching on to this cool, fun and strange way of travel.
Once I started to think about the idea of RV Bikes, which was after I laughed for about 20 minutes and giggled for 5 more, I started to think about how great of an idea it was and how innovative of an idea it is. I compiled a list of why this idea is so great, and why riding a bike more in general is a great workout for your mind and body.
Why RV Bikes Are a Great Idea???…..and bikes in general.
1. Your Body
Pedal power! Can you think of a better workout? Traveling around on a bike with an RV on the back for shelter from the rain and a good nights sleep. Okay, maybe you can…..but it’s a great workout anyhow. Whether you use an RV Bike or a regular bike you will be working hard to get to your destination (which if on the RV Bike, hopefully has a shower or lake available for removal of sweat and stinkage purposes).
Riding a bike physically works your whole body inside out. Besides burning calories, riding a bike increases your balance and stability, cardiovascular fitness, endurance, and flexibility.

2. Your Mind and Soul
Imagine riding your bike with the wind in your hair, the crisp air entering your lungs, and the gorgeous views of this beautiful land. You have time to think, to look, and to feel. The workout and hard work is worth the views and thoughts that you will experience.
It has been proven that riding a bike decreases stress, increases pleasure and relaxation, and makes you happy. Think about how fun it was to ride your bike when you were a kid. You didn’t think of the stress of the day or the workout and what your body felt like. You pedaled hard and fast. You laughed and smiled and looked around. Your were happy. The same is true today. Get on the bike, pedal hard and fast, and look forward to your adventure.
3. The environment
Using your RV Bike or regular bike instead of a car will not only help you physically and emotionally, but it helps the environment. There is less pollution, less gas used, and less energy needed (beside physical) to ride a bike instead of driving a car.You wont be polluting in the air, water or land. Did you know that most ozone pollution is caused by cars? That American alone are using close to 400 million gallons of gas A DAY. And that Biking accounts for ONLY 0.2% of all road travels by miles, and 1% or less of all trips in the U.S. (2001, Bureau of Transportation Statistics)? Did you know that in the Netherlands this same statistic is around 28% compared to our little 1% or less!
Get on the bike and travel…..stop being lazy. Go to the store, to work, or on a small trip (in which I recommend the RV Bike).
4. Your Bank Account
As gas prices start to reach the $3.00 or more a gallon mark our bank accounts are dwindling away quickly. Try a bike commute to work a few days a week, or as I said before, ride to the store or to a friends house. Save that money and get on your bike. Not only can you save on gas prices, but if you choose to get on an RV bike then you can save on hotel and camping as well!
5. Traveling The Land
Traveling around on a bike and seeing the land is one of the funnest things you can experience. Take a bike and wine tour in California, travel the beautiful Colorado hills, or take your biking skills to Europe. Check out this article on the World’s Best Bike Tours Here.
Obviously most people are not going to go out and buy an RV Bike. But if you were to use your bike more, think of all the fun places you could see and all the fun things you could do. Not only with an RV Bike, but just on a bike in general!
