21 Days of Water

21 days of water, only water, and lots of it. This was the plan, and it was much easier than I thought it would be. The power of water and its effects on our bodies is unbelievable. What is also unbelievable is that the majority of Americans see water as such a useless nutrient that they opt to drink sodas and fruit juices instead. So let’s look at some facts about water to help change their minds.

Water can help you:

Look younger

Lose weight

Increase your energy levels

Decrease aches and pains

Increase mental and physical performance

Improve muscle function

Make for beautiful skin

and MUCH more….

Because of these facts, I decided that I would not only have just water for 21 days, but I would also try to have the recommended amount each day. Recommended amount by my standards is half your body weight (lbs) in ounces.

As I began the 21 days, I started to realize that I don’t give myself enough credit on the amount of water I drink and how many other things I don’t drink, like sodas and sugar drinks. I basically realized that I drink water, tea, shakes, wine and ciders. It wasn’t hard for me to refrain from these other drinks, though I must admit that I did have a few shakes and teas, which I feel was only right because it was based upon water content. The only thing that I could not justify was the two times my weakness overtook me and I had a glass of wine. No regrets though.

After the 21 days was done, I did feel healthier, I had more energy, I didn’t get hungry as often and I peed many times a day. If running to the bathroom was a sport, I would be ranked in the top five.

Water did everything it promises, and I don’t think God made any mistakes when trying to figure out what to give us for hydration. Let’s face it, Adam and Eve weren’t drinking sodas and sugar drinks, they had water (and I would like to think they clinked a glass of wine here and there, maybe even on that dreadful apple biting incident night).

With all of that said, how can you NOT WANT to drink water? All the benefits outweigh the problems that may arise from not having an adequate intake of water. It even prevents problems from occurring! If you drink sodas, liquor, sugar drinks and many other things, I dare you to do this 21 day challenge. It will change your life! So grab that large jug of water and start giving yourself some cool love all day long!
