The past year I have been through a variety of $30 blenders (3 to be exact) and I am disappointed each time. This last time ended with a chocolate blood bath fight in which the clear winner was the blender and I was left with frustration and chocolate protein powder all over me.
The problem with these blenders are that they are weak and cannot take the force of much. Put an apple into one of these weak machines and it will buckle under the pressure. Grinding and grinding until the smell of smoke reaches your nostrils. The food and thick ice sticks to the bottom, finding its way into the sensitive area under the blades. This forces the blades to no longer do there job. This is where you must use a spoon to try to mix (I thought mixing was the blenders job?) the substance, turn the blender back on an hope that the blades start to mix and chop once again. The problem is that the blender is a $30 blender and thus will act as a $30 blender. Want a thick protein shake. No chance with these guys.
After a long search of the best blenders on the market I decided on the Vitamix. It wasn’t cheap ($500) but it can make drinks, soups, sauces, and even bread dough! And if you are someone like me who has a few protein shakes a day, then you will appreciate being able to place 4 kiwi, 2 pears, and ice in the blender all at once, flipping the switch to high and having a great shake in less than 30 seconds!
I can make shakes, peanut butter in seconds and my own applesauce! This is really the ultimate health nut’s dream machine!
I recommend the vitamix getting started package for the following reasons:
