Fitness and Nutrition come with a lot of excuses, but realize that if you don’t have the time now to be healthy, you won’t have the time later in life to live. Make the time, make it a priority. The following tips are here to help you eliminate the most common of the barriers and excuses associated with health, fitness and life in general. This is Part 3.
Barrier/Excuse #11 – “No one supports me.”
The student becomes the teacher. Teach your friends and family what you have learned. Tell them why this is important to you, and if they truly care and want you to succeed, they will support you. Have your friends/co-workers join you and you can support each other and keep each other accountable.
Barrier/Excuse #13 (FOR WOMEN) – “I don’t want to look like a man.”
Lifting weight does not mean you will get “big.” You can do resistance training 3 days a week with cardio and get toned, not “big.” You would need to eat an insane amount of calories for a woman to get “big.” Muscle Dictates Fat, meaning the more muscle you have, the more fat you burn, the higher your metabolism is. 1 lb of muscle burns 50 calories AT REST, 1 lb of fat burns 5 calories AT REST.
Barrier/Excuse #14- “I’m too out of shape.”
No one is too out of shape to start this program! Start slow and gain knowledge about your body as you go.
