Yogurt contains high levels of Calcium, vitamins D and A as well as antioxidants. All of these properties help replenish and protect your skin from unwanted wrinkles and blemishes. Be careful though. Even though a yogurt may look and sound healthy for the skin, it can load on the sugar and calorie content. Make sure you pick a natural yogurt that is low in fat and sugar.
These little guys are full of superhero antioxidants that help protect you from free radical damages. Once those free radicals are under control, your skin will look wonderful, and your body will thank you on the inside just as much as it does on the outside.
3. Brazil nuts
Not only are Brazil nuts yummy, but they are jam packed with Selenium, Vitamins A and E. We are pretty aware of how Vitamins A and E are powerful vitamins that protect the skin, but did you know that selenium has been linked to fighting cancer, including skin cancer and helps protect your skin from inflammation while providing a great maintenance mechanism for your skin (as well as hair and nails). Selenium has been linked to help in the prevention of aging affects, cancer, cardiovascular disease, inflammatory diseases, infections and neurological diseases. Be smart though. Nuts contain high calories and good fats, so use this snack lightly!
4. Grape tomatoes
Tomatoes are low in caloric intake and are slammed with antioxidants and some very powerful Vitamins, A and C respectively. Try looking for some organic grape tomatoes and dipping them in some all natural honey mustard sauce, it yummy.
Everyone knows that carrots are great for your eyes, but did you know how beneficial they can be to your skin as well? What make these little tasty guys so good for the skin are their levels of Vitamins A and C. But the fiber in these carrots can help clean out that digestive tract, getting rid of toxins and making the skin look clean and glowy. This snack is not only great for you, but has so little calories that you will never feel bad for however many bites you take.
